This stitch includes an automatic back-tacking stitch function at the beginning and end of the stitch. Start your seam, and it sews forward a few stitches, in reverse a few stitches, and then forward again securing the beginning of the seam. To engage the back-tacking at the end of the seam, press the reverse button of the machine.
