Manual Buttonholes
The manual buttonhole allows you to make buttonholes in any size you want, such as those for very large buttons. This stitch is the third of 3 stitch selections used to create a manual buttonhole. Use a Satin Stitch Foot to accommodate the dense stitches of the buttonhole. After step 1 (top bartack and left side) and step 2 (bottom bartack and underlay of the right side) have been sewn, this stitch now sews a satin stitch down the right side of the buttonhole. When finished sewing, bring the remaining thread tails to the backside of the fabric with a hand sewing needle and then tie the threads to secure them.
