A general-purpose polyester thread is ideal for most garment construction due to its strength, durability, and flexibility across a variety of fabric weights, from light cotton to denim.

Rayon or high-quality metallic threads are excellent for machine embroidery, offering a lustrous, vibrant finish and vivid colors that make decorative designs stand out.

For machine quilting, 100% cotton thread offers a classic, matte look and blends well with cotton fabrics, while strong polyester thread is favored for its durability and strength.

Thread breakage is often due to using low-quality thread, improper thread tension settings, an incorrectly threaded machine, or a dull or wrong-sized needle for your fabric.

Match your thread weight to your fabric: use extra-fine thread for delicate/lightweight fabrics (like silk or chiffon) and extra-strong/heavy-duty thread for upholstery or thick materials.
