Specifications

How to Use:

1. Select a straight stitch, snap on the Rolled Hem Foot and engage the IDT™ system (if applicable on your machine).

2. If needed, press only the beginning of the hem to 4 mm wide.

3. Place it flat in the groove under the foot and sew a few stitches.

4. Lower the needle into the fabric to hold it in place.

5. Raise the presser foot and pull the cut edge of the fabric into the scroll of the hemmer.

6. Lower the foot and continue sewing while holding the cut edge up in front of the foot.

7. Do not allow fabric to run under the right half of the presser foot.

TIP: Hem crisp fabrics with a straight stitch. Hem soft fabrics with a zigzag stitch that just encases the width of the hem. (Sharply curved areas are not suitable for this type of hemmer.)

Machine Compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions - PFAFF 3mm Rolled Hem Foot for IDT System

A rolled hem foot features a special scroll-shaped guide that automatically curls the raw edge of the fabric under twice, creating a neat, narrow 3mm hem as you stitch.

This foot is ideal for creating professional hems on lightweight to medium-weight fabrics like chiffon, silk, voile, and cotton lawn.

PFAFF's integrated dual feed (IDT™) ensures that delicate fabrics feed evenly from both the top and bottom, preventing stretching and puckering while creating the rolled hem.

This specific foot is designed for PFAFF machines equipped with the IDT™ System. Always confirm compatibility with your machine model before purchasing.

With a little practice, it's easy. You typically fold the initial corner, feed it into the scroll, lower the needle and foot, and then guide the fabric as the machine sews.
