Discover the perfect embroidery hoops for sewing machines, designed to hold fabric securely while creating precise, beautiful designs. From small hoops for simple patterns to larger hoops for more detailed or multi-color projects, our collection has everything you need to make stitching easier and more accurate. Whether you are working on home décor, clothing, quilting, or craft projects, the right embroidery hoop for your sewing machine ensures smooth, consistent results every time.

Choose a hoop based on the size of your design and your machine's maximum embroidery area. A 4x4 inch (100 x 100 mm) hoop suits monograms and small logos, 5x7 inch fits medium designs, and 6x10 inch or larger hoops suit large patterns and jacket backs. The hoop must be compatible with your machine.
Hoops are designed for specific machines and attachment systems, so a hoop for one brand or model will usually not fit another. Check the compatibility on the product page, including the hoop size and the attachment type, before ordering. Use your machine's model number to find hoops that fit.
Common types include standard plastic hoops, magnetic hoops that hold fabric with magnets, and specialty hoops for hats, cuffs and sleeves, and for large or small designs. Magnetic hoops speed up hooping and reduce hoop marks on delicate fabric.
Place the stabilizer and fabric together in the hoop, snug and wrinkle-free, but do not stretch the fabric. Stretching distorts the design after unhooping. Tighten the outer ring and check that the fabric is smooth and the grain is straight.
Yes. Stabilizer supports the fabric during stitching, which prevents puckering and gives clean, crisp designs. Choose cut-away for knits, tear-away for stable wovens and water-soluble for towels and sheer fabric.
Use less pressure when tightening, try a magnetic hoop, or float the fabric on top of hooped stabilizer instead of hooping the fabric directly. Steam or gentle pressing often removes remaining marks.
Yes. Use smaller hoops or specialty hoops made for tubular and narrow items such as cuffs, sleeves and pockets. Floating the item on top of hooped stabilizer can also work for small or thick pieces that cannot be hooped. Use adhesive or a basting stitch to hold the item in place.
Wipe hoops with a damp cloth and dry them completely, then store them flat so the rings do not warp. Check the inner ring and tightening screws occasionally for damage, and replace a hoop that no longer holds fabric firmly. Keep hoops away from heat and direct sunlight.
Choose the hoop based on your design size and your machine's maximum embroidery area. Smaller hoops suit monograms and small logos. Larger hoops suit big designs and jacket backs. Hoops are model-specific, so check that the hoop fits your machine before you order.
Hoop types
- Standard hoops: a snap-fit outer and inner ring that grips fabric and stabilizer.
- Magnetic hoops: hold fabric with magnets, which can be quicker and gentler on delicate fabric.
- Specialty hoops: for hats, cuffs, sleeves and other hard-to-hoop items.
- Multi-position hoops: allow you to stitch larger designs in sections.
Match the hoop to the design
Choose the smallest hoop that fits the design, since a smaller hoop holds fabric tighter and gives cleaner results. Check the design size in your software and your machine's hoop list. Leave a little margin around the design so the presser foot does not hit the hoop.
Hooping tips
- Hoop fabric and stabilizer together, snug but not stretched.
- Keep the fabric grain straight.
- Use less pressure on delicate fabric to avoid hoop marks.
- Smooth wrinkles before you tighten the hoop.
- Support heavy items so they do not drag.
Do you need stabilizer as well
Yes. Stabilizer supports the fabric during stitching and keeps the design clean. Use cut-away for stretchy fabric, tear-away for stable fabric and water-soluble for towels and sheer fabric.
Avoiding hoop marks
Hoop marks can appear on delicate fabrics. Try a magnetic hoop, hoop only the stabilizer and float the fabric on top, or steam the area after stitching.
Caring for your hoops
Wipe hoops clean and store them flat. Check for cracks or warping, which can cause slipping. Replace hoops that no longer grip well.
Projects by hoop size
Small hoops: monograms, labels and patches. Medium hoops: pockets, hats and towels. Large hoops: jacket backs, quilt blocks and big designs.
Compare embroidery machines, then add stabilizers, thread and needles to complete your setup.
