Manual Buttonholes
The manual buttonhole allows you to make buttonholes in any size you want, such as those for very large buttons.
This stitch is the first of 3 stitch selections used to create a manual buttonhole. Use the Satin Stitch Foot for this (not the regular Buttonhole Foot). The machines sews the top bartack and then sews down the left side of the buttonhole, continuing for as long as you want. When the bartack is the length you want, proceed to the next stitch selection. Use a fabric stabilizer to help prevent the dense stitches from puckering the fabric.
