You can create this project for the various seasons by changing your fabrics. The strip piecing used to create these blocks is similar to the method used to create Log Cabin Blocks, except you start with an irregular shaped center. You can complete this simple project on a sewing machine or a serger!
Materials
- 3 Flower Motifs for block centers
- 10 Assorted Fabrics (strips varying in width from 1½” to 2½”)
- ¼ yard Print Fabric for border
- ¼ yard Print Fabric for binding
- ½ yard Print Fabric for backing
- ½ yard Cotton Batting
- Universal Sewing Machine Needle Size 80/12
- ¼” Piecing Foot
- All purpose thread for construction
- Rotary cutter, mat
- 6” x 24” ruler or 6” x 12” ruler
- 12½” square ruler
- Iron
- Pins
- Safety pins
- Thread snips or fine tipped scissors
