Lattice Embellished Tote

Use the Triple Cover Stitch on your 5-thread Serger to make the lattice strips and embellish the handles.

Materials

  • 1 1/4 yard of Fabric A (sturdy cotton for tote body, straps and lattice)
  • 1/8 yard of Fabric B (contract color for inset) 
  • 1 yard of Fabric C (cotton for lining) 
  • 1 1/2 yard fusible interfacing 
  • 1 yard cotton filler cord (about 1/8")
  • 4 spools/cones all-purpose thread to match inset color 
  • 4 spools/cones all-purpose thread to match tote body
  • 1 spool all-purpose thread to match tote body
  • Elastic foot 
  • Cording foot
  • Ruler 
  • Rotary cutter and mat 
  • Water soluble fabric marker
  • 1/2" bias tape marker 
  • 1 roll 1/4"
  • wide double-sided fusible webbing
