Helpful tips when sewing tricky or specialty fabrics:
Paper Clips, Not Pins: Try using paper clips instead of pins to hold the layers of fabric together as you sew. Pins can pierce permanent holes in these specialty fabrics.
Stitch Length: Increase your stitch length on your machine to a medium to medium-long stitch length setting when sewing leather, plastic, oilcloth and laminated fabrics. A shorter stitch length can cause the fabric to become perforated at the seamline and tear.
