Need to Know Needle Knowledge Easy Color Coding System by Type and Size. Learn More.

Choosing the right needle size is based on two things, your fabric weight and thread weight - the lighter the weight, the smaller the size of the needle, and the heavier the weight, the larger the size.

Singer recommends to change your needle every 6-8 hours of sewing and/or type of fabric.

Lesson 10 Carefully Brush Out Lint Image

Machine care is essential for optimum performance. Remove lint and fluff from the hook race area, as well as the feed teeth area using the small brush provided with your sewing machine.
