Stadium Blanket and Cushion/Tote

Stay warm at those fall outdoor events!  This versatile tote not only serves as a convenient carrier for your stadium blanket, but it’s your seat cushion as well!  One side contains the foam cushion, and the other side has a pocket for a stadium blanket.  Two layers of fleece are used for the blanket to provide extra warmth, and the fringed ends add an extra bit of fun.

Materials

Everything you need to complete this project in one place.  Use this convenient checklist to ensure you have all required materials in your sewing room, or take it with you when you shop for supplies.

 

For Blanket:

  • 3⅓ yards (3.1 meters) fleece
  • All-purpose sewing thread
  • Rotary cutter and mat
  • Clear ruler, at least 18” long
  • Fabric marking pencil

 

For Seat Cushion & Tote:

  • 1¼ yards (1.15 meters) fleece
  • All-purpose sewing thread
  • Two packages of 1” (25mm) wide webbing
  • One package of ⅜” (1cm) wide elastic
  • One package of ⅝” (1.6cm) wide hook-and-loop tape
  • 18” (46cm) square 2” (50mm) thick foam cushion
  • Fabric marking pencil
  • Large safety pin
