Applique on Knit and Stretchy Fabrics: Tips and Hints
Machine applique is an easy way to add exciting embellishment to a wide range of projects. When sewing appliques on fabrics like those used to make t-shirts and sweatshirts, however, the stretchy properties of these fabrics require slightly different preparation than that used for woven fabrics such as cotton. Read on for some simple tips and hints to help you sew appliques onto stretch knit fabrics with the best results!

room, or take it with you when you shop for supplies.
o T-shirt or sweatshirt to embellish with desired applique
o Fusible web (large enough for adhering applique fabrics to main project)
o 100% polyester sewing thread
o SINGER® Ballpoint needle, size 14
o Fabrics for creating desired applique
o INSPIRATM No-Show MeshTM cut-away stabilizer, cut slightly larger than the
applique to be stitched onto main project
